Yesterday's "Quick Finds" ... Not Much.
Yesterday I had an hour or so to walk a field I've been eyeing. No one else hunts this field, because it doesn't look like your 'typical' artifact site. The farmer said no one else hunts it, and I'd like to keep it that way.
This is what I came up with in about 30 minutes. Most people around here hunt the river and flats along creeks. No one looks for campsites in fields around the flat ground.
The best I can tell this is a Hopewell Point.
This is a blade that has an ancient break at the base that was reworked, and is marked with Red Ochre. It appears to be either Adena or a cache blade of some sort. What are your thoughts?
An odd shaped scraper or tool of some sort.
These rocks appear to be some sort of discoidal or game stone. What are your thoughts on this? Also, the other piece looks like a broken pipe bowl.
