"yIKEs" with pics

I stopped by a Comerica bank on the way to the grocery store. I asked the teller for halves she said she had none. I then added do any of the other tellers have any? One of the tellers in the drive thru had one. I said I would buy it, as he was coming over to the window he asked If I was if I also looking for big dollars. Of course I said yes, he handed me two. One was a 1971 s the other clad. First silver Ike we have found. Nice start to November.

The picture is not great but it is an "s"

Nice! Like Diver_Down has said before, not all S mint marks are silver. To be sure you should weigh it. If it's silver it'll be like 24.xx grams. If not it'll be between 21-23grams, from my experience. Some have been over 23 like 23.05 and some have been under 22 like 21.67 grams.

Indeed. However, it is a '71. In '71, San Fran made the Blue Ike and Brown Ike. No Clad. What everyone is looking at is a Blue Ike. Sweet silver!

Diver Down is correct, There are no copper/nickel clad 1971S or 1972S. They were made 1973-1978. Silver Ikes were made 1971-1976. I can't tell if this coin has a S by the Pic.
