Yippee!!!! School is Out!

Well, sort of. Guess who is the summer school principal this year (and last)? Oh well, one perk is that I get to leave every day at 3:00 and we don't have summer school on Fridays--so, that will afford me a bit of extra time for road trips. Plus, tomorrow night is Senior Lock-In after graduation. I will be dead to the world by 5:00AM Saturday morning.

Finds have been fairly skunky lately--nothing great to post. Changing up the routine a bit.

Did 9 boxes of dimes last week (thanks Cards--you got me hooked) and culled 14 (no mercs). Halves slow, as well as War Nickels. But, I should be back in the game full swing fairly soon.

Hope all the teachers (and principals) out there in T-Net land have a relaxing and silver summer--as well as everyone else. Hitting the beach next month in Galveston. Going to order boxes and have then ready for me upon arrival. Almost skunked out last year--perhaps a change of luck will come our way.

Thank you for your years of teaching. The sacrifices made by teachers for our kids are huge. My daughter is a teacher and the tales of cutbacks and her having to provide materials out of her pocket makes me very proud of her choice of professions.

And, "Sweet Home Alabama!" Got the flipflops on, hair in pony-tail, Modelo Especial, and the pool! Best way to CRH is by the pool!

And, yes, the cut backs are horrid in Texas. Coolpix9--thank you. We test, test, and do more testing. Our teachers are so tired (and so are the kids).

I could actually "wring" our legislators necks--if I could find one. No TPM this year (I know only a few of you will know what this means--unless your an educator in Texas). No one is hiring teachers--we have a salary freeze. Damn it (bet that is censored).

Rant over for the moment. Back to the boxes. 2-40% thus far tonight--plus 1 silver dime.

I fell asleep in class today,
as I was awfully bored.
I laid my head upon my desk
and closed my eyes and snored.
I woke to find a piece of paper
sticking to my face.
I’d slobbered on my textbooks,
and my hair was a disgrace.
My clothes were badly rumpled,
and my eyes were glazed and red.
My binder left a three-ring
indentation in my head.
I slept through class, and probably
I would have slept some more,
except my students woke me
as they headed out the door.
