So I hit the same spot where I got my first SLQ and my first TWO mercury dimes the other day. Targets were fewer and much deeper. Found two tax tokens, a neat looking old (what I believe to be) grommet, another mercury dime, two wheats, a nickel silver ID bracelet and two rings. When I arrived at the location, I couldn't help but think about what Joe (OBN) said on my last post something to the effect of, "when I find old silver like that I usually find old gold". So when this small, old 10K ring with a tiny ruby popped out.....I actually said out loud, "you were right Joe amazing!" Each of these targets were in excess of 10" and I kid you not, that little gold ring was 18"-20" deep when I finally got it in my scoop. What is weird about the coins is that the two wheats and the merc were all three 1944 S.... Unfortunately the merc took a nasty scrape across her face. The pretty little ring with the light blue stone had a hallmark of a U with an arrow going thru it which I believe is the Uncas Jewelry Company and had no other indicators of metal content. Anyhow, I had a super time digging around this place that nobody has touched in a very long time.
Take care everyone and happy hunting!
