Hi all. Thought I'd get out this morning since the weather was nice and cool. Went by one permission but no one answered, so I kept driving. I passed a neat looking old farm house and decided to turn around. An elderly lady answered the door and when I gave her my pitch, she said " Ok, but I'd like to see what you find". I assured her she would see everything and started the small yard. As you can see, the finds were very minimal. I didn't dig the iron signals but everything that may have been a flat button and up came home with me. I just knew this old house would produce at least some IH's or maybe even some older silver, but they just weren't there. 3 weeks ago, I stopped at a mid 1900's house thinking I might get some late silvers and left with a large cent. Sometimes this hobby makes no sense, lol. One good thing about today~I had NO no's, lol. I stopped at 5 locations and had 4 no answers and the one yes. Thanks for looking.

man still lookin for silver Washington#1,so far I found 1 in change, none dug yet, guess my areas are to old

Having an area that is " too old " is a good problem to have Keep trying.....#1 will show itself as soon as your coil passes over it. Thanks for your post.

Ha, you're braver than I am asking at five houses. Is by any chance that a slab of crianoid (sp?) stems the stuff is lying on? It's pretty neat looking.

Still a nice silver though!

Yes sir, that is indeed a crinoid slab that you see. Good eye. It came from my home state of Kentucky. The local lake's shore is littered with them. I still like looking for them as much as I did as a young boy.

Well, yeah that's true. We really "just don't know". But, if we did know for absolute sure, then we would just have another question hanging over us.

WHEN!?!?

LOL

What you got out of this day was a LOT! Good job!

One thing I did get out of this was a lot of bug bites! Never did see what it was but something sure liked the way I tasted, lol. Thanks Gary!

Nice silver OD. You have been a digging machine this summer while most on Tnet was sitting under the AC-like me-LOL. HH, Q.

Yep.....solid 86, lol. Odd thing about the site was the lady said she had lived there 30+ years and no one had detected it while she has been there. From the lack of wheats though, I believe someone must have been there at some time. I bet they really cleaned up too.

Thanks Mr. Q.! You can't dig em by reading about em here on TNet, lol. If you aren't willing to sweat a little, you know as well as I that this hobby isn't going to be for you, lol. Looking forward to the Trio's season this fall. Good luck!

Well, it's not older silver, but a '34 is sexier than a '64 any day!

Yes sir! I really like finding silvers. It seems the really old ones just don't like ME, lol.

A 1934 Washington is a tough find ! (that is very early in the series - they don't show up here often at all ) and if you have the double die
variety it's worth some bucks . That alone would be a day maker for me ! Silver quarters are becoming a difficult find .

Thank you sir! I didn't mean to diminish finding silver at all.....I was just sure this old farmhouse would give up quite a bit since she said no one had been there when I first talked to her. The thread was about the surprises we get from our sites. Just when we think we have them figured out, we get thrown a curve lol. Thanks for your post.

That Washington is a keeper for sure. Congrats,
ZDD

The best part of this adventure called metal detecting is you just never know what your going to dig, nice silver.

You were on a roll! Congrats on your silver! Nice!
