You won't believe this........

On Mon I walked by a coinstar machine and checked the coin return (because that's what I do now lol) and there was a coin in it. I thought it was a good one so I put it in my pocket and checked it later. Could it be? Really? A standing liberty quarter? No. It was a 1964 1 franc French coin, and still pretty cool.So yesterday I stop and do some MDing on the way home in a park that is extremely hunted o IMAG0452.webpIMAG0456.webput. 3 quarter's and two dimes, but (wait for it), one of the quarters was a standing liberty! Not only my first silver coin ever found, but a 1917 d type 2 that is in pretty good shape. By the way it was 1 1/2 inches down beside a big ol oak tree. I am soaring. Thanks for listening.

Very nice coins! Awesome that you found an SLQ so early and it's an older one with a date! Congrats!!!

Very cool coin, love them big Oaks.

That Franc should be nickel and magnetic. Not that it matters. Nice finds!

Nice coins!!!! A true find!!! Make sure when you enter pix to press "enter" twice so it doesn't cut the wording off. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Very first silver! WTG

Standing lib (erty) among my favorites. Iconic coin in my mind.

I'm still lookin in the coinstar,no luck yet. good job!

Coinstar finds are one thing but finding a silver coin is way better and of course a SLQ with a readable date and its your first ever silver find, way to go. You could just choose to retire as you've now detected an outstanding coin but you might just as well keep going through another 500 or so pull tabs as one day it will be 'gold' for you and I'm not talking a coinstar find!
Happy Hunting..............63bkpkr

I also try to check the returns on the coinstar type machines I come across & GREAT STANDING AS WELL..."Still looking for my 1st S.L.Q. Davers
