2013 Has Been Awesome!

Only been on 3 hunts so far, 2 of which have only been a half hour, but I've already scored some of my best coins (previously posted to TNet):

• 17?? King George II Half Penny (happy to have NJLARGECENT and ERIKINNJ share in the find)
• 1885 Indian Head
• 1866 U.S. 2 Cent

I've been so excited about those finds, that I haven't posted some other interesting finds. Here they are (cleaning to come):


Bell found in Mt. Holly, NJ


Two flat buttons found in Mt. Holly, NJ, one with shank still intact


Spigot of some sort found in my home town. Should clean up nicely.


Ballantine Beer token found in my home town (thanks to NJLARGECENT for the "it's a token" ID prior to cleaning)


Watch parts found in Mt. Holly, NJ


And a big bucket of "junk" to sift through on the upcoming frigid days!

Your spigots are actually interior gas valves. Before they electricity they ran a gas line into the house and attach it to a decorate cable like you found. They would turn the valve a little and light the gas for light. Which is why so many of the ghost town are just that. Lots of fires! Congrats on some great finds!!!

Most of the one's we find around Oklahoma range from 1890's through about the mid 1920's when the towns started to get electricity in them. I would assume yours would be around the same time frame.

Yep, I know what you mean. I've scored pretty well in the short time 2013's been around. A GREAT start! A couple finds I got have pretty well made this year a winner no matter what else I find, or don't.
