With a sorrowful heart I watched a beach cleaning machine pass by at the local edge-of-continent.

Does anyone here know what the guys do with the trash?

Do you suppose they know to at least eyeball the stuff before dumping it?

I'd ask the driver but they never stop no matter how fast I run or loud I scream.

Ocean City Md does this every day. I have read that they go 6 inches deep---find that hard to believe--not sure how small they pick up either. I noticed that in one area of the beach where they just passed there were shell fragments larger than a quarter laying there and I had no problem finding coins there ( not great but good ). On the way home I thought that I should have planted some coins at various depths just before the machines swept the beach ( mark them with tape so you can be sure when you recover them )
