zinc penny

I found a 1995 penny in my change that has no copper on it.Could it have missed the
dipping process.Would this be a common mistake or has anyone ever seen this happen.

Most likely has had the copper chemically removed.

Maybe someone found a profitable way to leach that little bit of copper off the penny! Ha! Ha!

or it cost 'em too much to put it on them at the end of the run... Ha!

...chances are it sat in the catch basin of a laundry washing machine for a while and the detergent chemicals stripped the copper off, or discolored it... did you scratch it to see if there's any copper left on it?

Looks like many pennies that I've found in the beach sand. Might be caused by salt.

This one has a rim on it and looks as if the rim was attached to a chain.

Mine is the same size as a regular penny,I have never weighted it to see what it is compared
to a regular one.But if I find out anything different from being chemically removed I will let you know.
