I found a 1959 Canadian silver half while searching through some boxes of MWR, strange too since the diameter is a bit smaller than the regular US halves. maybe a mm smaller

Mine was a 1944 silver 10 cent piece from Newfoundland, before their coinage merged with Canada. It had a mintage half a large as a 1916-D Mercury dime, so it easily is the rarest coin I've ever found. Unfortunately, it is only worth around 5-10$.
Still very cool!

Oldest I could think of from hunting are a couple of George VI Canadians, oldest I've ever found is an Iranian coin from 1880.

My oldest was a 186? One penny in a box of halves. So slick but could barely make out a partial date

I have a 1904 Canadian nickel, got it in my change when I was working up there, thought it was a dime initially until I had my microscope...

My oldest and most valuable (due to silver content) is a 1910-C Indian Rupee. I found it in a Loomis box of half dollars. What made it doubly exciting was that it was an ender which I dubbed a “Rupender”, lol! Most disappointing foreign coin was a 1947 Mexican 5 pesos COUNTERFEIT. Thought I had a chunk of silver until I researched it on the internet and read some warnings about about fakes. Sure enough it was magnetic, weighed too light, and had a “Medal” alignment.:icon_scratch:

An elderly old gentleman that I know gave me A LOT OF FOREIGN COINS all sorted in envelopes. The OLDEST one was a 1758 Mexico 1/2 Real. That is my oldest of ALL COINS I have in my possession, US or foreign. You can see pics of them on my NEED ID postings a few months back.
