Hello all you AZ members of Treasure Net.

Here is a thread designed for one thing... Checking in and getting out with fellow AZ members. I see that there are a few AZ members who have gotten together and had some fun prospecting. I am kinda jealous. I, and hopefully other members from AZ also, would like to get to know our peers in person. See who like to shovel, and who like to watch shoveling happen... J/K.

I see some members are passing through the area I live in and I would love to get involved.

I will start it off. I live in Glendale, and don't have a truck. ( I have a company truck, but that is a big no-no) I have a drywasher, and a MD. I have my daughter every other weekend, and have the FEVER. I have a membership with Roadrunners. We have claims at Rich Hill, near Vulture Mine, and near Old Woman Gulch outside of Morristown. Anybody wants to set up a day of digging, let me know. I will be waiting at the end of the drive with too much equipment....

Well here's a pic of the miniball my son found.

He was so excited to find it. This was his second time detecting using my ATG. I was excited for him. This being possibly our oldest find. I'm assuming 1880s. The yellow patina was the same but mine was deeper yellow color. Man I thought it was a nugget. Oh well. Next time.

yea..i know about seven springs...walked in there back in the early 1960's... i have found a stone corral...some out buildings...a breech from an old musket...now this digging.. since you know the area...this set of holes...is over by the old powerplant...above the river in the terraced gravels... i dont believe anything is lost except for some tourist prospectors...lol <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=916501"/>

Pippin
Is that a pic by Jerome. If it's seven springs, has it grown from the small community of a couple houses since the 80's.
I've been thinking about taking my sons up there to go play and detect. That's open land correct? Being national forest.
Has anybody taken the old forest road that connects to crown king? Last time I was up there somebody told me it was a real rough ride, but I'm always open for adventure. It's been 20 years probably since I've been up there.

Well, Roadrunner and I spent the day out by Bumblebee, and did out EPA impersonations. Cleaned lots of lead out of the ground. From full size 45 slugs to bits of birdshot. Heavy pockets of lead. We are def good at finding lead. We were finding them in the shale, in the washes, on the hilltops, pretty much everywhere. I am starting to figure out what the shell casings sound like. The little bits of lead get me hoping every time however. Beautiful weather today. Start out with a sweatshirt, and finish with it. My daughter came with and didn't whine once. She did awesome. Smashed a whole bunch of rocks, and brought home about 40 pounds of quartz. I found out she needs her own pick. Every time I wanted to dig, I had to ask her to bring over my pick. Good day, good company, good weather, just missing some gold...

Had a great time also. And your daughter was great. Very well mannered, and did not complain once.
I can't find my little pill bottle with all the tiny pieces of lead. Must be in the truck some where.
We where finding pieces of lead smaller than a match head 2-3 inches or deeper in this schist, with dirt and clay.
I was following Quartz veins 8 inches wide, and 12 high sticking above the ground.
Oh well. I know I have my V/Sat figured out by now. And all this without headphones(which I forgot to bring).

I have to say, that if I ever decide to go duck hunting, I am going to invite you along to detect. Sounds like you are feeding ducks all day with the quacking that GoldMaster does. Def get a kick out of that sound. Had me chuckling all day.

That's hilarious. Quacking? I want mine to say. It's gold dammit, Dig!!! That way I don't get excited over a piece of lead. But it's like I told the forest ranger, I'm cleaning the land of toxins.
Wish I could've met you guys. Busy with other family stuff though.
So when's the next hunt. Ever try castle hot springs? I've been thinking about that area everytime I go by there to go north.

My goldmaster when it hits on iron, brass, copper, steel, kinda makes a grunting, quaking sound telling me its not gold.
Its like the book Zip Zip,when I hit on Gold, it should be a zip zip.
There's quite a lot I don't dig.
It is weird though.
Is castle hot springs by Lake Pleasant?
Have a friend in Anthem that wants me to go around there some where.

West of pleasant. I've even heard of the washes going towards pleasant. But not 100%. Makes sense though. Makes me wish I was into panning then, when I was boating. Now I've got to fix the boat.

Castle hot springs road is the road that goes north from Morristown. It's the road that goes through the Red Picacho and Old Woman Gulch RR claims. Always find placer gold there.

CHS makes a big circle from Morristown/74 hwy to just west of Lake Pleasant/74hwy. Just past the end of the pavement out of Mtown you turn left to access many RR and GPAA claims in the LSD District. Merry Christmas to all y'all.

Well, I have been cooped up either in the house or the hospital for the last week. I am tentatively planning on going out on Monday and/or Tuesday. Looks like it rained last week again, so drywashing is out. That limits me to the detector. Which is fine. Anybody able to get out on Monday or Tuesday? Wanna go beeping, or have a recirc sluice? BTW, it wasn't me in the hospital, I am raring to go.

I was on this site a long time ago...so long ago I can't find my profile, so I signed up again. I'm not much of a joiner but do like to get out and about now and then. I'm semi-retired and usually have lots of time. I live in Tucson, been a professional miner for a few decades. I have a Dodge dually, 4X4...its just itching get out in the sand.

Hit me up with a private message if at all interested in talking and meeting sometime. Don't have much recreational equipment, but willing to drive, within reason, if you have the equipment.

Tucson is a little far for me, but there are members down there.

I'm always willing to do some recirc-sluicing or detecting. Just as long as it doesn't interfere with doc visits or my couple of days doing pools. Lol.
Found a couple specs from my test bucket I had from SE of Tucson. Now I've got a couple more buckets to run. C'mon color.
For now I'm in San Diego for Holiday Bowl. I'll be glad when trip is done so I can get back to the color that keeps calling me back out.
I'm hoping to go back north this month January
