I went to a field that I had looked once this spring after they turned it. It has been very dry here this year but last week it rained 1 1/2 inches in town. From looking at radar, I think that field got about we got in town. It is a sandy area and I felt I might find something. I looked for a couple of hours and everything I found was pretty much beaten up. I almost came home but decided to look one more trip down the rows and back. Thank goodness I did because I found this one. It is perfect. What type do you think it is?

These are pretty beaten up.

Wow, that is a beautiful point, it looks relatively early to me, but I will defer to those who know points from your area, to offer up type suggestions. Good job on deciding to walk another row down and back, it amazes me how often those intuitions turn out to be good.

A friend of mine wanted me to join this forum so I'm here. It looks transitional Paleo, I'd call it a Tallahassee but it does have a little Beaver Lake flare. It has been resharpened at least once and that caused a slight asymmetry and would lead me to believe it was used as a knife or cutting implement. An excellent and somewhat rare find for your part of the country. Great find.

At 1st I thought Dalton Santafee but after looking it up in my guide the reason I ended up with Tallahassee was it said the 2 get confused but the Dalton isnt serrated but the Tallahassee is. Other than that they look the same..
