This is what Robert Converse says about Ohio Birdpoints in his book Ohio Flint Types.

Information and description
Called Birdpoints because of their small size, these small projectile points have been found on many Ohio and midwestern prehistoric sites. They were long thought to be Mississippian in origin since it was assumed that the bow and arrow did not make its appearance until well after 500 AD. However, recent research postulates an introduction of the bow several thousands of years ago. Thus Birdpoints, which are probably true arrow points, are much older than previously believed. Two Birdpoints were found with a burial at the Duff Site, a Glacial Kame location in Logan County, but it was not clear whether they were the cause of death or burial accompaniments. Such a context would place them in the second millennium BC. Birdpoints were specifically dated at the Sabre Farm in Ross County at 1,900 BC.
The most common style of Birdpoint has a corner-notched design with a small fan-shaped base. The blade is triangular and is often lenticular and shaped by fine pressure flakes. There are other varieties of diminutive points found in Ohio, such as small Bifurcates, but these are probably not related in time or culture.
