    New to the forums, I have a Spanish cob and i just want the forums thoughts.

    HI!,

    Well this coin was my grandfathers and he passed it to my dad. My dad says he has no clue where my grandfather got the coin, Well now it is mine and i think it might be fake. Any thoughts?

    The pics are bad but right now its all i have. Sorry

    weigh it with a gram scale
    it should weigh in at 6.7+ grams

    There are a lot of knock off 1715 fleet gold coins out there
    but if it weighs in properly go to a reputable coin show
    and have a few specialists take a look
    before you decide what to do with it
    and or what it is worth
    Oh by the way, its not a cob its a Doubloon
    Since 1987 our Jupiter Wreck has continued to yield coins but the question, "Where's the rest of the Ship?" has remained unanswered...  There are 2 layers of shipwreck scatter and we are equipping the "Enterprise" to excavate the primary treasure layer.  Join with us this year!
