I FINALLY broke into the 1700's !!!!!!!!! 1773 Virginia Half Penny!

I was hunting an old farm today and this was the FIRST target I dug, I have absolutely NO idea what it is, but it has a clear date of 1773....man I am pumped up!!! I scratched it, sadly because it had roots all over, but right now I am so happy I don't even care. Before this my oldest coin was a undated capped bust dime. I still cannot believe I dug a colonial coin in OHIO!!!!! WooHoOOOOO :hello2: :laughing7: :headbang:

I took a bunch of pictures trying to get the best shot and angle....

Those VA Halfpennies are cool colonial coins, I have found 4 of them in SW Pennsylvania. Yours might have been brought into NW Ohio by one of Mad Anthony Wayne's men in 1794 or by troops during the War of 1812.

Thanks to all those who nominated me for banner, even though it didn't make it, it makes me extremely happy that several of you thought it was worthy. I doubt I will ever dig an older coin in Ohio. I am thrilled to have found such an awesome piece of history, it is just unheard of to find these in my state.

As stated it is a VA half penny, but when you look it up you will see two types. Period and no period yours looks like a no period.
