Where did you find it, in Lancaster UK?

It seems to be a Medieval Jetton or Counting token.

It reads CIVATAS SWIEN I[7]26 - Latin for "City of Swien 1726" (not sure where Swien is or modern translation) & maybe a date with the 7 blundered??

Whats on the other side??

arr so it was a 5 not a 7 - 1520. My guess work was not far off, although hats of to PBK.

Probably just a die variant— not uncommon on 16th century hammered coins.

Very Nice for a Pennsylvania Find.

I wonder if it was a Keepsake lost by an Early Traveler,

Or a Collection that was Stolen & split up.

or maby even a sign of Very earlier Travelers.
or a Pirate, coming up through Maryland ;)

was it near the Susquehanna ?

"Oroblanco" may like to see this

Really nice coin.

Lancaster Pa is a very old area. I live in pittsburgh pa allegheny co. Alot of good and old places to hunt here in pa.
