Jeff does any of your parks have frisbee golf ? They call it disc golf also, it is big in Delaware in the big State, County and City parks. I use to play along time ago and enjoyed it. I run across small and big groups playing when out and about. Most courses are big and go through wooded areas.

Not that I'm aware of.

Back in the 70's around here you were a looser
if you showed up at a Party (Kegger or otherwise) wothout a frisbee
however these days, pretty much a memory

yea :( Tomorrow is 50/50 on it being nice here yet
They are calling for High 50's but windy so allot will depend on that Wind.

after that Deep freeze & snow flurries predicted till...... :dontknow: They say they don't know when :(

so unless we get an Indian summer before winter even gets here....

I'm disgusted.

I felt really out of shape today, but What can I do :icon_scratch:

That almost looks like the Montour-Delong fairgrounds. Big area to cover. Friday looks like it's gonna be cold, so good that you're getting out beforehand.

Nice fairground pics! After the freeze-thaw action this winter, that ground should be nicely softened up for easier & deeper digs in early spring.

When my son & I first began detecting, we included two days at our local fairgrounds. Dry ground so hard digs, but we deliberately kept to the bare dirt areas anyway while the groundskeeper cheerfully drove his mower over the nearby grass. A year or so later we heard from three separate detector guys that each had been recently kicked off the same fairgrounds. My guess is either they were leaving big holes in the grassy areas or else there'd been a change of groundskeepers. Anyhow, we're gonna go again next spring after our hoped-for rain softens the ground. Have Fun! Andi

I hunt our local fairgrounds quite a bit and was told it was hunted out of silver. Lol guess the guys never put their coil over the spots I have. I've pulled 5 silvers out of there this year so far. 4 silver rings also. The oldest is a 1908 barber dime. I even found some gold jewelry out there. Hum I wonder if they just wanted spot for themselves or they just don't know how to use their machines because all the silvers and jewelry was less than 6". I don't listen to the hunted out comments anymore. Good looking fairgrounds you have there. I'm not looking forward to this weather getting worse. Oh well guess it's time to hit the fields and woods.

Oldest coin I pulled from here was Colonial.
Oldest U.S. I pulled was Shield Nickel,
and My oldest silver from the fairgrounds Barber I think.
But at least 1 seated dime, 1 large cent & 1 3-Cent has been found here.
by hunting buddies.

As you said ya gotta put the coil over the spots.
Just hasn't happened for me recently.

also it is a big trashy area. and ya can't clean the silver out without getting all
the other stuff out the way

When I was younger we used a frisbee that was up under the car seat to roll a custom cigarette, lol. Here is a disc golf link. Disc golf - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yeah Dave, we used our Frisbee in the same manner, had to get rid of those nasty seeds somehow to roll those custom left handed cigarettes, in turn I did manage to throw a mean Frisbee on the beach! Haaaaaaaaaaa lol

Jeff, you and whatifind could spend the rest of your days on earth, every day at that place and never hit the same spot twice! Nice pix, nice thread.
