Surf's Up! West Coast to East Coast Copper

Bee-boppin' along in the soccer field when "Guillermo," my trusted Tesoro Vaquero, hits hard and solid on a target. Thinking it had to be canslaw, I used my toe to move the grass about and out popped this recently dropped oddity. Looks like a smashed copper penny that's been stamped(?). Anyway, California dreaming in Westchester County, New York!

Terry it looks like one of the "token" thingies you make from a penny in machines at many tourist places. You put the penny in one slot and two quarters in another, turn a large hand crank and out comes your oblong keepsake. The 50 cents is the fee for using the machine. They have such machines on the Martha's Vineyard ferry and many other places.
