Did a couple hunts at some of my local go-to fields. The first day I dug 28 early buttons and nothing marked, but towards the end of the hunt found the Roy Rogers lucky token so figured I had to go back and try again! So that's exactly what I did hunting a few other areas and finally getting over an early military button. I've yet to confirm the ID, but suspect it may be Royal Garrison Battalion. I think there's a case to be made for the middle letter being a G, some seem to disagree. Hopefully will find out for sure. https://www.napoleon-series.org/military/organization/Britain/Infantry/Regiments/c_Veterans.html

The French friend I referred to in my title was using my Deus for the 2nd and 3rd time for these hunts. I haven't tried another detector for over a decade because I'd always do the same thing, play with it a few times and then apologize to my explorer, :love5:and sell the imposter. This time it's different. What an incredibly well-thought-out detector that lives up to the hype for recovery speed and separation. I suspect it's probably not going to be quite as deep as my Explorer in some cases, and most definitely does not have as good of target ID audio at depth in cleaner areas, but the good still outweighs the bad. So the Deus will not replace my good ole Minelab but
I have no doubt the time will be split.

It's always a fun challenge to find and id those obscure militia buttons we sometimes get. You put more effort than I did trying to find it and you probably have it figured out.
But now you have a lucky token to help out, so in a week or so when we get out detecting, you have an edge and I don't mean the Deus!

Great warm up for the hot fall we should have!

It's unbelievable that all the lettering it there yet it's still difficult to find an exact ID. And nice going with the Deus. I have a CTX and Deus and I utilize both, and they nicely complement each other. Ones weaknesses is the others strengths. Anyway, nice group of finds and Happy Fall!

Great finds!! Spend some time with Deus, it's an awesome machine. Hope you have software version 4. XY screen is a big plus with weeding out junk. Best of luck.

Congrats and HH

Nice mix of finds! I like the deus to, it's a good compliment to the ole explorer.
The middle looks like it might be a "B" or a "J" IMHO.

Nice finds, I love my Deus, both in the field and in the water, my minelab is an Excalibur II I only use it in the water alternating with my XP

It's not just a Deus, it's a Roy Rogers christianed lucky Deus. There is a big difference!

I'll probably spend part of the coming weekend doing research to find us some new fields. Love the ole beat sites but am more interested in creating more old beat sites.

I can now see the R?B, but I'm not yet convinced that's a G, but nor I'm I happy with an F.

anyway, probably a fairly rare one - CONGRATS

Yep, that's the problem, to confirm the middle letter. I guess on the positive side there's plenty enough there to match, so the day that happens, if it does, it will be a solid match.

Nice results on the button, you might be mildly pleased with the new addition to the stable. Going zero discrimination has helped me out in the iron, and if it's fairly quiet then the G-Maxx with help push the depth, but sucks the battery out of coil faster.
