Did a couple hunts at some of my local go-to fields. The first day I dug 28 early buttons and nothing marked, but towards the end of the hunt found the Roy Rogers lucky token so figured I had to go back and try again! So that's exactly what I did hunting a few other areas and finally getting over an early military button. I've yet to confirm the ID, but suspect it may be Royal Garrison Battalion. I think there's a case to be made for the middle letter being a G, some seem to disagree. Hopefully will find out for sure. https://www.napoleon-series.org/military/organization/Britain/Infantry/Regiments/c_Veterans.html
The French friend I referred to in my title was using my Deus for the 2nd and 3rd time for these hunts. I haven't tried another detector for over a decade because I'd always do the same thing, play with it a few times and then apologize to my explorer, and sell the imposter. This time it's different. What an incredibly well-thought-out detector that lives up to the hype for recovery speed and separation. I suspect it's probably not going to be quite as deep as my Explorer in some cases, and most definitely does not have as good of target ID audio at depth in cleaner areas, but the good still outweighs the bad. So the Deus will not replace my good ole Minelab but
I have no doubt the time will be split.
