DO TREASURES HAVE REAL SPIRITS?

The riches found in the new mines changed the entire landscape of this town. Colonial mansions arose throughout the town, and finest goods from around the world were brought in.
Merchants from India, silk-makers from Japan, coin makers from China and (sadly) even slaves from Africa and other areas were brought in to extract the plata (and even other precious metals).
The town came to life! Globalization had indeed arrived. This city, at the time, became one of the richest spots on earth.
Silver-plated carriages began to line the streets. Women began to don themselves in hoop skirts and fanciest of clothes and men in stood proudly in newly tailored suits. Life was good, until it went bad.
Something also took it's place, as the story goes, on the lovely porticoed walkways ; those darn banditos. I think this is where I say something like "aye, yay, yay", Reb and RC?!?
Word spread quickly about this good (bad) fortune, that it drew all kinds. Some, not-so-savory. The claim had turned into fame, and it wasn't a secret, anymore. The grand commercialism alone whispered this secret (or yelled it aloud) right there. "Hello", it stated, "we stuck it rich"!!!
During this time, so much was happening, as it always does anywhere. Like people falling in love, and getting married. This is where the spooky (key-word, Crosse') Beatriz (the pretty daughter of the wealthiest Baron) comes into play. Don Jose'. Do you remember this one? I will give you a hint. Silver bars, the church, a horse, and the unforgettable name; Almada.

DO TREASURES HAVE REAL SPIRITS?

Just as our favorite American Rebel knows, in every epic tale, there always needs to be some good, some bad and even some ugly. So, should I make your day with a little combo of the three qualities mentioned above? I will try. Here it goes. Take one.

Enter, The Treasure of the Sierra Madres. Oh! I remember. You were waiting for me to tell you about Beatriz. Well, consider this a brief intermission.

You recall the classic adventure movie? If not, it is about two rowdy rebels (would've been perfect for Clint) who meet up with a seasoned prospector in Mexico named Joseph Curry ( just kidding- seeing if you were awake). They meet up with this veteran prospector and head into the wilderness of The Sierra Madres to find riches. Well, they find that, but trouble is not far behind.
B. Traven, the famous German author wrote this story in a place you might have heard about. Where? In Alamos, of course. Sonora, Mexico.
This crazy adventure has everything I have already told you about. The good? Treasure! The bad? Banditos. The ugly? Greed.
It is hard not to be inspired by this kind of history, at least for me, and others like Traven. I wonder if he knew, in 1948, of the other amazing tales that were quietly whispered in between our primary settings' Adobe walls?
Although Alamos could have turned into a ghost town, it did not. After Pancho Villa saved it from nearly disappearing once, it was later saved by interested ex-pats.
These people worked hand in hand with the locals for many, many years to bring it back to it's original splendor. Tap, tap, tap was all that could be heard from the hammers (whoops, wasn't that from another story? Lol).
At the same time, many would still consider Alamos to be a ghost town, as they say it is filled with not only (mostly) Americans, Canadians and the occasional wandering artist/ explorer type, and the locals, but many other 'spirited types' as well.
Why don't you pour the coffee, Crosse', and perhaps Beatriz might join us in the next installment?

DO TREASURES HAVE REAL SPIRITS?

Yes, indeedie! This was the first of many others that were told to Jamie and I many moons ago.

This family (Almada), has a rather captivating history in Alamos.

Before I continue, I need to recommend The Almadas of Alamos, 1783-1867. The author is Albert Stagg.

This man and his large family made their colorful (and sometimes dark) mark in this historical account of their mining and personal lives, which were both very splendid and also deeply tragic. The story is a wild ride. I suggest seat belts.

The most wealthy and popular man in this family was a rich Silver Baron. He amassed all the treasure he could ever want in the form of silver from the nearby mines.

He also had a daughter. Beatriz. She was beautiful, and she was in love. The couple could hardly wait to marry. They were rich in love and became even richer when her Daddy gave them one of the prettiest mansions and other worldly goods in which to start their new happy life, together.
On the day of the big wedding, a big storm appeared. It swept in and soaked the roads. Like any good daddy/proper Silver Baron would do, he lined a long path of silver bars (or planchas de plata) forming a safe trail from her house to the church, so her satin slippers and dress would not become soiled.
Everything looked good, until their precious event was rained on one more time.
Upon exiting the ceremony, the groom cheerfully mounted his horse, ready to take his bride off into the sunset, when his luck ran out.
Without warning, the animal suddenly reared back and threw him straight onto the rough cobblestones.
The outcome was not good. He had broken his back in several places, and died shortly thereafter.
It was said she lost her mind. It did not matter she had all the riches in the world, for what she loved, she lost.
It was not long before she too, had died. Probably of a broken heart, as noted by many back then. Before her untimely death, the only place she could be found was weeping inconsolably in front of his grave, alone.
And, that is where a rare handful, still, see her.
The moral of the story? Love is the greatest treasure of all. Or, on second thought, how about love ROCKS, but cannot be found in ONE. ;)
The end.

Hi Alamos moon,

Awesome! Can't wait to really talk about the neat,
historical, and good Treasured Spirit thoughts...

But sheesh, some spirited guy kept me out all night, up almost 'till dawn.
Listenin' ta' music and playin' with his lap typewriter, goin' in an' out
of the Hacienda, quietly so as not to make a sound. Lookin' down
in the mineshaft, like a sneaky lil' country mouse... That's
the time, sometimes, that I write my Best stuff. You
know the good, the Best, and sometimes maybe
pretty wild stories an songs. But all of the
stupid jokes, or made up stories, are
now all totally banned, permanently...

So, I gotta' go saddle up ol' Bessie, an try to make it to
the ol' tradin post an' back, before dark. Or the 'ol Indian
trail, turns into the 'Indian Pass 500', an' the trail banditos
an' Bears, like to come out to play. Get some coffee an' beans,
some beef jerky, flower an salt, the good supplies, an' a few of
the itty bitty basics you know...

Muchas Gracias, awesome writing once again. Your
cool literary style, expressing Spirited life and history,
for us all to think on, Treasure an' thoroughly enjoy!... :treasurechest:

Perfect, realistic perspectives, the coolest composition,
and as always, truly amazing thoughts... :goldtrophy:

Thanks again, can't wait to talk about all of this fascinating
history reale soon, just a little bitty, later on down the trail...

Everyone! I've found all of the stories in the thread very interesting, even fascinating. I have read almost word for word, the entire thread from page one to here. I enjoy treasure stories as much, or maybe more than most folks. Hope this thread keeps going and going!!!

Senor Texasred777,

Hi buddy, you know there's a good possibility, that
it will keep on going for awhile, especially as long
as you good people keep contributing a story. A
thought, as you know, how much a little help
and encouragement, can go a long way. To
keep one inspired, to try and be artistically
creative. Like water to the deer, a juicy
rabbit, to a falcon or hawk. The right
chosen words, for the spirits to hear...

It's one thing to tell a story, even perhaps
if done quite well. Another scope altogether,
to try and express, relativity of the active and
influential spirits, that may be involved. Who do
know quite well, how to get, or have their ways,
when it comes to treasures, pretty sparkly, even
the good ol' working, on the lively treasured flesh...

Those referred to as, The True Treasures...

I will try to keep it interesting, and a tolerable variety
of music, maybe with Don Jose's and Alamosmoon's,
and Relevent's, Coazon's, your's, or whoever's, own
taste of selections, mixed in for the intermissions.

The thing is, one can only reveal so much at a time,
without the risk of maybe sort of giving away, a bit
too much of the spirited game plan...

But there's always lots of cool hidden clues to be seen...

Are you having a nice spring Tex? Take care...

Glad you came by to visit...8-)

Alamosmoon,

Wow, what a historic overview,
and such a sad ending...

Do you think that the rain and accident,
was possibly just 'time and chance'?...

You are very persuasive, with the way
that you paint the local countryside,
and illustrate the many events,
with your words...

That's a lot of various activities through
time, and it sounds like spirits had quite
a heyday. Surely we can see, the similar
patterns elsewhere, also throughout time...

Have a great weekend! :sunny: :fish:

Very few days go by that I miss checking this thread. I have it in my 'favorites' list so I can click on it at any time. I doubt that I miss more than 3 or 4 days a month checking it. I've not been posting as much as I did a few months ago. Other things in life kinda get in the way. As long as I'm alive and able, I'll keep up with what's going on here!

DO SPIRITS ALSO HAVE REAL TREASURES ?

Very few days go by that I miss checking this thread. I have it in my 'favorites' list so I can click on it at any time. I doubt that I miss more than 3 or 4 days a month checking it. I've not been posting as much as I did a few months ago. Other things in life kinda get in the way. As long as I'm alive and able, I'll keep up with what's going on here!

Tex,

You have contributed several very good, interesting,
and enjoyable stories, of various kinds. Like all of
y'all, all of our friends have contributed the good
stories and thoughts, that has kept the thread
going. Even though, we cannot openly talk of
my favorite subject (faith, word, spirit life,
spirit type treasures) the same anymore,
as what was generously tolerated for a
good while. I have tried to find some
creative ways to refer to, and to still
tie some of these things together...

You all have helped a lot, even
tremendously, and there's no way
that I could have done what we have
all done together, without all of your good,
creative, generous help. I have really enjoyed
working with you all, on this project, because of
y'all taking the time, to tell stories, and be involved...

I consider this to be all of OUR's work, of
course, whoever's thread, that may want
to contribute to, if so desired, or to just read
and enjoy. That is one of the things, that's good
and helpful to us all, I think. To share our stories,
thoughts, beliefs, faith, experiences and dreams...

We are all in this thing together (life), and when we can
be of some help, or encouragement to one another, then
that is one of the Ultimate Treasures, I think we all can do...

This will, and has not gone unnoticed. I firmly believe (Angels
and Spirits), as some have the ability to get the full attention,
as their duties and privileges before His face, in the presence
of 'The Holy One', do continually see and know, what it is,
and how that it is, being said and done, It Is recorded...

~ DO ANGELS ~ POWERFUL BEINGS ~ WATCH US ~ THE TREASURED SPIRITS ~

That there is a learning, that takes place, of the great ones, who
have not had to endure (Cherubims, Seraphims, all other angels),
by what we treasured spirits, the 'True Treasures', have been thru,
and still keep to the light (this is also written)... HE Will, wipe away
All of our tears, all pain, all bad things that we have seen, and all
endured. And all of our deeds also, will be qualifying our good
rewards. Our unending, and totally fascinating treasures,
that we will enjoy for all time, and that, without any
kind of human measure, or disappointments...

In the meantime, we search for treasures. Some are
the wonderful, sparkling light reflecting, and glistening
kind. While others, are the spirited, soulful, awesome
True Treasures, that the Grand Master Treasure Hunter,
Always Seeks. May He grant us riches in earthly treasures,
abundant resources, if it is His will, and plan for us. As we all
continue in our searches, and the continual attempts to please
Him, The Great Spirit of Spirits. To help find, and to hopefully all
Recover some, of His Great, so Highly Desired, Truly Peculiar, and
Magnificent, Spirited True Treasures...

Thanks Tex, Have a great day and weekend,
my good spirited brother... Crosse... :sunny: :fish:

... ~ HOW WILL YOU BE GIVEN YOUR REAL TREASURES ? ~ ...

... I Was, real busy all that day, runnin' and workin'
with my friend, the building and remodeling contractor...

We also, stopped by another friend's place. A small ranch,
that I had helped him to work on, and put in. And had wired
the services to the house, and to the 40'X60' shop, that I
had helped him to work on some, to build also...8-)

But when we passed this guy walking, for the second time
coming in. There was no way, I could have known what would
happen. For in the next few hours, and for about three weeks,
there would be conversations, totally unexpected. Then, some
things discussed, would be potentially informative, an' maybe
even eye opening. Though I have talked to so many people,
in my optimistic lifetime, this would definitely be one of
the rare, and exceptional conversations, as one might
ever have, especially, for being so quite unexpectedly... :sunny: :fish:
