    Brass Art Noveau something

Found this at an old site that had been cleared. I thought it might have been attached to a drawer and the key went in the middle, but it does not have any places for screws or anything. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Could be the lid of an old trinket box that had an insert of a enamel portrait. Looks similar to one I saw on eBay. The lid just set on top of the base. No hinges.

Maybe photo it next to a quarter or hold it in your hand for scale.

If you could post a picture of the reverse side also.

    I love hunting old relic sites . . . as I feel
the imprint of past lives often linger there.

I view relic sites as windows to the past, sacred places
in a way, yet at the same time attesting to the reality
that the past is still very much a part of our today!
