    Toy Train - Oil Tanker

Found this yesterday. Seems to be in great shape, but no markings that I can see. Measures about 3.75". Nice and solid/heavy. Any specific ID is appreciated!

Not sure on exact ID, but I would add "slush mold" and "metal disc wheels" to your search. A specific size like HO scale may not help, as it was meant to roll on the ground, rather than on tracks. Probably from the 1930's.

It's made by Tootsie Toy. The one pictured below has SHELL on it, but I don't think yours has a sponsor, although I do see CAP or either CAR 90000 on the right side. Neat find Breezie

I dunno' Breezie, sure it's an old single dome tanker, but with the differences in wheel configuration, side step configuration as the difference in the molded text, I'm not ready to attribute this to Tootsie Toy.
It may be helpful to get a read on that capacity figure (CAP) #?, as I read it as 92200. It may help in the search for a definitive match.
A lot of slush mold (type of die cast) toys weren't maker marked, as they were smaller companies, mostly in the Kansas City area, rather than the big names like Tootsie Toys which were usually marked (the name being in the casting mold).

Hey Grant, I am getting jealous and proud of your vintage toy finds! You have a Tommy Toy #TTV20 "Oil" Tanker "Cap (capacity) 80000, (like Metal Cast tanker, which has a different capacity number) 1930's, attaches to Tommy Toy Towing Car Coupe (verbatim from reference book.)

Now, the small photo in my book shows the Tommy Toy tanker with white rubber wheels. So....if you clean yours and see a capacity number different (I think I see 92000 on yours) than 80000, then you have a Metal Cast tanker from the same era. Clear as mud? Sub

Once again, thanks to all of you for your help! Capacity number does indeed say 80,000. Any tips for cleaning her up?
