    Copper or brass plate

Hello all...... I dug this plate (2x3 inches) at an old farm in Connecticut. At first I thought it was just a plate and when I cleaned it up a little, I barely noticed a rooster at the top. Using some side lighting there was also a crown and a small shield with some stars. On the bottom was written (backwards) was the phrase “Longhorn King Crown”. I’ve tried numerous Google searches but have come up with no information. I think it might be some sort of plate used in printing but I’m not sure. Thanks for looking and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If the designs are incised into the surface of the metal, it's probably an etching plate or engraving plate. Either way it's a printing plate. Maybe for printing a label.
It's a cool looking object. That's for sure!

Not that it made any difference in my searches, but are you sure it says "Longhorn" and not "Leghorn" (as in white Leghorn chickens)?

I can't see any words in you picture...

Just for grins, may we see the back of the relic?

Here is the back. There is nothing on it but the scratch from my shovel.

I guess Leghorn King Crown is a chicken competition from the 1930's...?
