Very nice! Can you determine what the butterfly is made of? Also, can you make out the writing on the shell base?

? it is heavy for it's size not led i don't think maybe low grade silver?? the cartridge says i think new club on the bottom and i think U N C co?????????? on top thanks scott

That butterfly is a gorgeous find -- looks to me to be quite old. Can you get a weight on it and compare it the various potential metals? Congrats on a fine hunt!

neat butterfly ;D and i looked thru my end stamp box.. U.M.C. Co. late 1800s to early 1900s.. Remington bought them out in the teens.. i like the ones that say smokeless myself :icon_thumleft: MR TUFF
