Starting at the end I got 10 Coppers today, (2 1700 coins) Previous best was 9, also got 10 buttons, but only managed to get home with 6 buttons ?

Anyway started off right out of the gate with a copper in minutes, I think the very first dig, there was relatively little junk all day, a few iron bits, no AL trash. Wasn't long before I had a second, then ZDD having no luck was thinking of moving on when he nabbed an early french Silver 1677 (the last pic.)

Moving on to area #2, I was getting a copper every second pass on about an 80 foot square. It was fun. I was up to 8, and the area was covered in foot prints. Expanded the search area for awhile with not much hitting, I went back to the noisy patch, went slow, and dug the mixed signals.

Found another "shield" copper, coincidentally I got a sheld copper the day I got 9 coppers, I thought was a NJ, turned out to be a conder, so is this one. I IDed it as scottish 1791 (2nd last 2 pics.)

Lastly I thought all the buttons were plain flats, but a little dry tooth brush when home revealed a decent Navy button. Great only the second one of those.

A very nice day in the out of doors, and a record breaker to boot.

Now that's more than a handful! Numbers like that it's only a matter of time before you pop out a nice silver!

Wow Rick you're a machine!

I've had a couple of days of impressive numbers on the copper board, nice to see a variety and hopefully get a decent one or something new to look at. Knowing there's some old French coins coming out will keep you going back there and cleaning up what you missed today. I like your navy button too, nice finds!

Yeah shame, the percentage of blanks this season is pretty high.

Yeah the silver is sweet. I washed it, looked at it with a glass, Dave didn't believe me when I told him 1677 french. I reminded him I don't "make stuff up"

WTG! My best hunt was 2 CT Coppers & A KG III. I'd love to find that many in 1 hunt!

Rick you certainly had the coppers tuned in yesterday. That Royal Navy button is awsome and will hopefully help me find a pic of what the sword piece I found was suppose to look like. Most likely a Royal Navy or Royal Marines sword.
Can't wait to get out again.
Dave
PS Do you have a date for the Scotish coin?

Me too, esp. the other side of the road, or maybe that corn stubble will be mixed in. Oh yeah.

Date, yes it's in original post 1791, it's on the coin in roman numerals.

You had a great day Rick. And congrats on your copper record. But you need to tell Dave to keep his hands out of your button finds pouch. At least he didn't grab that really nice Navy.
