Hey guys got out for a few today and hit the old park again. Lots of clad as usual, some other whatchamacallits and then........a 1913 Wheatie, deep (11 inches) at the base of a tree. Cleared it out and the pointer was still chirping. Then came out a bronze trolley car token. It says El Paso City lines on front and good for one fare on back. It also has a picture of a trolley on it. Wanted Silver, bt completely content with these :headbang:

Atwood's Catalog of U.S. & Canadian Transportation Tokens shows this as TX 320-E. These tokens were put into use 6 Mar 1950. "The El Paso City Lines began operations on December 31, 1943. The company operates the streetcar line over the river between El Paso and Juarez, which is still operating." Of course that was stated in 1970.

Hey thanks for the info! I had put it at mid 50's but wasn't sure. The Lines no longer run, and the city tried to revamp the trolley system in the 90's but it failed. Lovre the token, local history finds are some of my favorite. thanks again for the information.
