I would leave it as is, just because I have never had a dug copper coin get worse. But if you think it might, you can try grinding it down with a nail file, then coat it with some Renaissance wax.

Thanks IP. Very odd that the gritty green corrosion only attacked the whole circumference of the coin. I haven't much experience with this type of corrosion and its one of my favorite coins because of the story behind it. It definitely has to be addressed. Arty
