I'm not positive but I think the "brass hook" was used to hook a sword....but I'm not sure. I have found one myself and I "think" buckleboy found one also and I remember reading about it on here. I'm sure someone can help you ID it.

Great hunt, Joe!
I'm not sure we will ever finish that place.
Can you believe that guy hunted that place for 10 years?
Maybe that's why we find so little silver.
He must have been cherry picking. LOL!

Nice digs Civ! The next time you two head out to that spot, if Ty yells that he's got another Flying Eagle, use the stun gun... :tongue3:

Hey!!!
I'll have you know that when I first started, I watched Joe pull a hundred
Civil war relics out for two months before I ever got one. And never once
did I consider a stun gun! LMAO!

I know the feeling - I hunt with Doug (Modern Miner). I've been tempted to use the shovel quite a few times... :tongue3: ;D

I really like the roman things/buttons? and the old lantern piece. Looks like you had a great day. And don't ever go hunting with DD or at least don't tell him when you find something.....might get you hurt :sign10: HH

Great finds Joe, looks like you have a nice CW sword belt snap.I have dug two of those from Mo. camps, I have seen those posted on relic sites as being CSA. Nice finds for sure!

That 'disk' thing looks a lot like a shell card. A shell card was a cardboard piece sandwiched between those disks. Like a token of sorts. I found one that looked just like a Coronet large copper and it even had the date on it. Nice finds congrats.
