My friend called and asked me to come look at some coins he had bought for $300. I was checking out the coins and he was wondering if he had made a good deal. He had 10 Morgan Dollars(1902-1921), 6 Peace Dollars(1922-1935), two Franklin Halves, five Kennedy Halves, a Proof Bicentennial Ike Dollar, 1 Walking Liberty Half, and this beautiful 8 Reale. I also noticed one of the Peace Dollars is dated 1928 in VF condition. I think he made a great deal!! Pictured is the 8 Reale!

If no key dates or very high grades $300 seems high.

Nice reale though.

The 1928 Peace is a Key date, there was also a 1902-S in EF, but they were the best two!!

Common date Morgan and Peace dollars are about 17 bucks around here. 16*17=$272. I think he did just fine.

That '28 should be slabbed. It's worth good money. Wherever he got those from, someone must not have known what they had.

Nice Reale too!

Just by itself the 1928 peace dollar is worth $400.00, unless it's an s mint then it's only worth $30.00. He would be hard pressed to get that kind of sale price from any coin dealers....Kane 23

Not mine, wish I'd have had a chance personally but a friend bought them, basically for the '28 Peace and the Reale!

Hey Dan, from what I know they were bought from someone who received them from a death in the family and didn't want to hassle with Ebay or mess with coin dealers, so he went to my friend and offered them for $300.

He bought a Minelab SE two months ago and his best finds weren't dug. Gotta take treasure where you find it!!
