Scouted out an area in the woods and was fortunate enough to find a site.
Dug this 1796 Liberty Cap around the southern end of the cellar hole, and it's got some really nice detail for a dug coin.
Also got a knee buckle frame and an unusual amount of large flat buttons. No GWs yet though.

Very nice recoveries. That large cent certainly has above average details for a dug copper

You're right about the condition. Not bad at all for something out of the ground. Looks like you've got a nice site with that many good targets in one hunt. Hit it until the ground doesn't make a sound. :occasion14:

Great looking copper. Itโ€™s almost hard to believe that copper coins can stay that nice after 200 + years. I became a believer after my buddy Abe took me to a site where I dug a near perfect 1749 Farthing. And heโ€™s dug a few mint ones himself. Theyโ€™re out there and you got a really nice one! Congrats!

Killer coin, 1700s US. and such nice shape. Wow. Iโ€™m used to seeing coppers from the farm field, and they donโ€™t look like that one.

Who said banner?

Congrats on a really nice find sir.
