My partner and i decided to hit a house he did back in Feb. briefly when he was learning his new machine. Although he did find an IH that first trip we where both not to excited since he hit it hard for about 4 hrs and only had the IH to show. I first worked the front side of the house and got nothing. I then moved to the other side and got a good signal, dug down and i see an IH. Pretty good condition to, 1889. I was alittle excited now since i was wondering what else he could have missed. I then get a strange signal alittle later that sounds like a coin but is giving off a scattered reading. When i dug down i was pleasantly surprised to see a rim of silver. Turns out to be a 1920-s Merc. Il take that any day. We scaned for about another 1/2 and i was gettin kinda tired and hot. I worked around the big tree in the front as soon as i got there and got no signals. I figured i would hit it again. Right near the front of the tree i get this weird signal. It goes from garbage to solid Dime, but only if i swing it slow and on an angle a cerntain way. I dig down about 4 inches and its not in the plug. I check the hole and my somewhat good reading is gone and theres only a slight garbage reading. KNowing that at one time something was hitting relativly good i dig down another 2-3 inches. I swing the coil, BANG, its reading dime. I though awesome maybe i got a barber or somethin.
Out pops the nicest Large Cent ive ever dug. Great features and very little corrison. And the best part is its an 1802 LC. the house was made in 1805.
Thanks for lookin
Keith

P.s. Early LC come up as dimes on my IDX Pro. thats why it read like that.

That 1802 is one of the best I have seen on here. You must be very pleased with it

Good to see you using a spade & a big plug, I've never understood them knife thingies, too much of a risk to a nice coin like that!

I try to use a bigger shovel to reduce the risk of scratching the coin. for the most part its worked to, iv only scratched like one or two of my coins ever
