1818 house - 1st attempt - IH & CW soldier

I recently received permission to detect at an 1818 house & soybean fields. I stopped by after work today for a few hours.
I think this place has been hit before because it sat vacant for a long time and I found no silver. The wheats are 1917, 1918, and three from the 1950's. Also dug an 1800's flat button with "Plated" back mark.
I am looking forward to gridding off the soybean fields for some old coins. In the field is where I dug this 188? IH.
I was happy to dig this little lead CW soldier too. ;D Nothing spectacular, but I'm sure there will be more.
Have a great weekend,
MM

You may not think they were great finds, but I would take that assortment any day of the week. I especially love that lead soldier and engine.

Thanks Spartacus,
This was a variety of goodies at least. ;D

Thom,
That was a 1978 Lesney (England) toy. It was in great shape too. I thought it was going to be a recent toy.

That soldier is excellent, especially with the caption!

I agree with Old Dog - that little train engine, while not real old is pretty neat!

Thanks KD,
That caption came to me so easily. ;D

Nice finds. I have seen those soldiers before. The one you have is suppose to be riding a horse and holding a sword. Looks like that place has potential.
Dman

Thanks Dman,
I may retry that are & see if I can come up with the missing pieces. Good luck with Q next time out. Make sure you stop frequently so he can rest. ;D

Love the one legged Union soldier. So that is where that penny I shot years ago ended up. ::) Looking forward to reading your 2010 posts Doug.

Thanks Chris,
I thought that was one of CKK's pennies. Keep those up in PA if you could. Send down some Colonials instead. ;D

Dug, even though you didn't strike silver, it doesn't mean there's none to be found. Keep on sweeping the grounds and you will be rewarded with something early. That soldier is sweet! He'll have a good home next to your other CW goodies! :icon_sunny:
