I was looking for a lost heirloom ring for a friend in an old field yesterday. There was no junk in this field, not shotgun hulls, can slaw, pulltabs, absolutely nothing. I'm sorry to say I didn't find the heirloom ring either but in the middle of this field I get a good goin signal. I figured it had to be a coin that a hunter dropped and out pops a 1831 Large Cent. The property used to be owned by my friends wife's family all the way back into the 1800s so I gave her the coin. It can't replace the lost ring but she was happy to have an ancestors lost coin.

too bad about not finding the ring, but sometimes giving is better than keeping. congrats on the find, I'd love to find something that old here in Wa.

Nice shape! The only one I've ever found came out pretty rough.
