Around the outside of the coin it's gonna say "Millions for defence" and in the center it says "Not one cent for tribute"

It's a hard times token as Iron Horse said. I found one dated 1837 up here in Canada.

I like the hard times tokens. I've only found one over the years. I'd like to find a few more. Congrats!

Funny you don't hardly ever see one posted, yet there have been close to a half dozen in the last short while. I got one too different from yours an 1837, even has May 10th on it.

Oh that's pretty crusty. But so was mine and it came out pretty good. Warmed HP in the microwave for 30 secs and dropped the coin into it. Left it in there for a little bit till it stopped fizzin and used a soft bristled toothbrucs to clean it.
There is a story behind these coins. It's a pretty neat one. Googleing it would be a better explanation than what I could give.
Here's mine

Many tokens issued at the hieght of the panic of 1837 and afterwards were of the "NOT ONE CENT" variety, and
millions for defense, these phrases i believe were a protection against counterfeiting charges.

Thanks! I love finding stuff with cool stories behind them!
