IMG_0144.JPG IMG_0145.JPG IMG_0141.JPG IMG_0143.JPG IMG_0138.JPG IMG_0139.JPG On Sunday, Sue and I hunted a soccer field and had a nice day with clad....57 coins worth $7.36. On Monday, Veteran's Day, we hunted an old playground/ballfield that was on a street lined with very old houses. Clad finds were numerous and we dug 130 coins worth $15.54. Additionally, we each dug a Sterling silver ring, Sue's is the Turquoise one and mine is the one with the dark colored stone. We also dug five aluminum tokens.....three from Sandy's Arcade in Asbury Park, New Jersey, which are certainly a long way from home, and two Shell Oil tokens that were given out in 1969 when you bought gas. Sue's is the Ben Franklin and mine is the Byrd's flight over the South Pole. The BEST find of the day (and year) belongs to Sue....an 1854-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar. She dug it on her FIRST hit of the day !!!! It's her third seated coin since 2011 when she started detecting with me and the second one this year !

Great Find! Always nice to uncover big old silver.
Thank You...….big silver is ALWAYS nice.

Looks like both of you had a great day. Congrats on all the nice finds. Love the silver.
It was probably our best hunt of the year...Thanks

Sweet coin and rings who gets the gold and diamonds let me guess lol My wife and kids grab up my gold and all jewelry They dont even detect. Glad you guys have fun together doing this.Thats an amazing hunt
Thanks...….We have an agreement that we each keep what we find and we definitely have fun hunting together.

O.K.i really love seeing old half dollars like that one.You two did some heavy digging to recover that much change.
This hunt kept us busy for sure.

AMAZING half and yea, you two were busy! The more targets dug, the better the odds of getting lucky on a find like that half. Grats and thanks for posting.
Thanks, more targets increase your chances of a good find but what are the odds that she'd find it on her first target?

Beautiful coin, congratulations! :occasion14:
Thank You

Holy s**t!! Looks like a day on Hampton beach for me, minus all the silver, rings and cool stuff
Thanks

Your ring probably is onyx the dark stone.
Possibly...…..

Much better than average, for sure.

That half dollar looks like it’s in pretty good shape. Nice find!
It certainly didn't see much use before being lost.

Wow. That's a crazy find. Especially considering the age of all your other digs from that day. Well done!!
Somebody missed it if this site was ever hunted before

All that clad! You must be hunting undetected territory? Cool! That seated is great! Hope I look that good when I'm 164!
I don't know if it's ever been detected before but certainly not by us.

I have seen the 1854-0 Seated Liberty Half Dollar sell for about $2,000 in VF-20 condition. That coin would go better than 40 to AU. Should be worth a ton of money.

Current catalog value is $130 in XF....don't know how it would sell for $2,000. A couple of years ago I bought a Fine seated half at a coin show for $40. This coin grades at XF but has rim damage which would knock it down a grade.

Go to APMEX coin auctions and look at their prices. Prices change over the years.
