1863 Army & Navy Civil War Token

Had a really nice day here today so decided to break out the metal detector and do a first of the year hunt in the back yard. Lot of scrap a nice pocket spill what made it nice was that it wasnt scrap this place is packed with it. Was about to call it a day when I decided to dig just one more signal.

the dark picture is the actual color the lighter one was lightened to show the detail a little better (havent worked out all the kinks with the new camera)

and yes, 1863 didn't even catch that typo thank you. We have been doing a little research with our local plat maps and learned that a house stood on our property in 1876 (earliest one we found) this find confirmed that our land was settled in the 1800's and I was just tickled pink as some of the other maps show no home here in the same time period guess we know which one is more reliable. It was about 6 inches down now to find the vicinity of the old homestead. I have a lot of ground to cover it wont be easy but it sure will be fun.
