My house is from the 1860s but has fill dirt in half the yard. But, In the small wooded part there is no fill dirt but in some places dirt has been took away. Well, anyway we started detecting in the woods and got a strong hit. We dug a foot and found a lantern. After research, I discovered the company that made it was founded in 1893 and was around until 1903 which put it into the 1890s period. then we started seeing broken plates (After research, I discovered they were from the 1890s also).A lot of the the plates had most of the pieces sepratly in the hole, for one of them every piece was there so all it needs is glue. We also started finding bottles, bowls, vases, cups, and a bucket. Sadly a lot of the things that were still in the ground were removed when they took away dirt for better drainage (Which never even helped our drainage). Tonight we are trying again over there again.
