1891 IH , CW relics, & JFK Rose again!!!

My Saturday hunt was shortened to only 4 hours due to rain. We need rain BAD, so I'm happy we got some.
I started out hitting pasture #2 this morning and only finished half of it so far. I hit an area that seemed to be a CW relic hotspot.
Two CW bullets, chunk of lead, harmonic reed, and an iron piece that I am hoping can be ID'd as a CW relic too.
I wanted to cover other areas too, so I moved into the woods for awhile, pulling up a few buttons and a Big Frosty bottle.
I could see the sky getting dark, so I hit the yard around the house last.
Not a great day, but not too bad. The IH was frosting on the cake! :D
Here are my finds today:

*1891 IH (front yard)

*"London Colour Superfine" 18mm flat button (woods)

* Two CW bullets , lead chunk, and harmonica reed. (pasture)

*Unknown iron piece. Is this a CW gun tool? I swear I've seen something like this posted before on TN as a gun tool. Any idea?

*Oval buckle. (front of house)
Is this Colonial era?

*Wm. Rogers silver spoon (back yard)

* "John F. Kennedy" rose tag. He will be missed.

*"Big Frosty" bottle with "Hutaff" on the bottom. (woods)
Any idea on the age of this one?

Thanks for looking.
Hope you all did well this weekend.

That place just keeps giving it up MM. Big Frosty-Rootbeer. Age, I don't know.

Nice IH and relics.

We're finally hunting up here in Ohio. Had a good couple days myself.

I just found one of those rose tags yesterday, except mine said Tropicana instead of J.F.K.

What is it? Looks like a bent over trowel for putting grout down when installing ceramic tile.

SKD,
Would a grout trowel be made of copper and have the teeth on both edges? ???

Nice going on the relics and IH Doug..it must be great to be able to keep going back to a place that big, taking your time and really enjoying the experience as you unearth so many pieces of history..glad you got rain but I also hope the rain doesn't last too long so you can get back out there.

Thanks everyone. It amazes me how I can go over that front yard TWICE, gridding it off, then still be able to hit on this IH just randomly swinging as I was walking to another area. :D Talk about luck!!!

MM,

I don't think that's a CW gun tool. It might be CW era but I don't think we can tie it specifically to the CW. I'm SO glad to see more flat buttons coming up--that's a GREAT sign. Congrats on the CW bullets!

I don't think that buckle is Colonial...I don't recall seeing any with punched holes. I think it could be later--my hunch is 1880-1930 or so.

Nice digs, buddy!

That Colonial piece looks pretty late.. I have dug a bunch from later housesites.. circa 1880s... the best I could figure was some sort of brooch or pin.. like there was "something" in the opening.. I have rectangle, round and oval ones.. ?? Let me know if you get a positive ID..

Nice finds. I think the CW tool thing could be a old horse bit without the rings on the ends. Just a thought. When I found this one the rings were still with it.

Thanks BB. I always appreciate your help on these old pieces. Finding those buttons out in the woods was a real thrill too. Like a needle in a haystack.

You could be right, this may be a brooch.

Mike,
You the Man! That looks like exactly what I have, and I found it in the horse pasture. Thanks for the ID. Mine was pretty crumbly too.
This one will find a new home in my garbage can. :D
Thanks,
MM
