That penny (pence?) takes me back to 1956..

I was with my parents on a trip to England and Europe. I remember the beautiful, old English pennies and how huge they were compared to American pennies. And the dates astounded me. Many in common circulation at that time were dated from the late 1800s. Most from the 1800s were worn down a goodly bit but a few were in fine condition. I was only ten years old then but I was impressed that the English seem to value history more than us. We are a use it up quickly then go on to something new society. I suppose all the old 1800s English pennies are no longer in circulation. A pity.

I think that's called a "penny bun" Jimmy. No doubt some of my fellow learned English men will correct me if I am wrong... :hello:

Pssst...I think someone drove through your yard!

LOL! Great find! I got multiple firsts from my lawn! Probably should go back over it, actually!
