Nice I found 2 here in Illinois a month ago 1936 & 1940: thats a seated britannia !Theres a little boat out in front of the feet> Quite a penny for size makes our little pennies look small, wonder if that was on purpose? HH rr7
 

Awesome find! A guy on this site, "Worldtalker" ( from Mass. I think ) found one the other day and his is from 1916 but what is strange is his head bust is facing left where yours is facing right. They must of changed that later and yours may be an earilier version. Yours seem to seem to be more clearer where I can see the Union Jack on the shield and three prongs on the gaff and can read "One Cent". Congratulations on a rare and beautiful coin!:headbang:

That is a really neat coin to find, we just don't find that many in the here in the states.

Side note;

About 3 years ago I was hunting a large park in a small town near Dublin Ireland and pulled out about 20 of those big English copper coins. Folks in the U.K. find these things like we find Lincolns cents!
