Went out for a short hunt at a local school this evening. Lots of trash (especially iron), where a grandstands used to be.
I got the usual crown cap signal that rang up at 95-97 at 8khz. I retrieved a 47D Rosie. Dug two more pre-65 dimes for a total of three.
Surprisingly they were the only dimes and no wheat pennies, its usually the other way around.
Anyhow my point is, dig those deeper bottle cap signals in high trash/iron areas. Sure its mostly crown caps, but occasionally (as I have found 3-4 times now), its a coin.
Pulling the coil back doesn't work under these circumstances.

Nope! Not on the deep ones! I sometimes switch over to 4 kHz,and see the readings not change though.
