1960 D/S cent?

I know the 1960 D/D RPMs are out there, but I'm a little puzzled by a find from tonight.

As you can see from the pics, there is (what looks like to me) a faint "S" northeast of the Denver mint mark. It's worth noting that it's most visible at a roughly 45 degree angle to the obverse surface, although I can see it faintly looking straight on at the coin.

Anyone see the same thing I'm seeing?

I see both, the D and the S in the faint marking, not sure what to tell you.

I'm seeing a what looks like font serif crossing the middle section of the MM, which seems to suggest an "S" to me. I've tried to mess with the contrast on one more pic to show the same. I'll check in the AM if natural light helps at all.

I know it's not particularly helpful for anyone not on the other side of my eyeballs, but under a x10 loupe, I think the "S" MM is even clearer.

It looks like it could be a repunched mintmark, but none of these photos I found appear to fit your picture.

Yah, I went through the coppercoins RPM listings, but they only show for D/D, and nothing with close the separation of these two mintmarks.

If this is an "S", would this be considered an OMM? Is that even correct if there is no overlay of the two marks (i.e. one is not "over" the other?)

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts so far!

I doubt it would be an S... The Frisco Mint was closed from 1956 -1967..

That is an undoubtedly strong point that I didn't think of before. I'm going to try to get my hands on a USB microscope to get a cleaner look, but now I'm thinking that I may just be looking at toning and seeing things (i.e. not even a D/D) :/

"Cleaner" might be the correct term in this case. I believe the only thing you are seeing is a stain on the coin.

Now that I took a few minutes to examine the photos, I believe it might be a repunched mintmark "D" however I will not tell you for sure or not unless I saw it in hand.
