Continued on the sheep field. We have done this field quite well but with the wet conditions & desperation we decided to cover it again. Glad we did as we have sucked up a few finds left behind;

4 Scrappy Roman Bronzes. (3 to me)
cica 1570s Elizabeth I Penny (very small & easy to miss) - found by me.
VERY RARE 1668 Brass Halfpenny Token :) - found by Dad

A forged bronze nail (looks ancient)
and bits....

3.5 hours (7 man hours work) but well worth it.

We will carry on in this field until one becomes free in mid- Feb. This field has not been done by us and is right next to a medieval church. We have to wait for the shooting season to finish.

NICE HAMMERED STUFF. ALL I CAN DO IS SHAKE MY HEAD WHEN I SEE SOMEONE DIGGING HAMMERED COINS.......I LOVE YOUR HISTORIC LAND CRUSADER...
PACO, WWW.BONEDRYDETECTING.COM

Thanks.

I have looked at your internet site, very professionally done.

I totally understand your attitute about clad hunting but I like to keep a more open mind. There maybe for example be a colonial homestead in the middle of a modern park. I don't hunt for modern change but I take it, if you know what I mean. When I have the choice between nothing & park, then detecting wins every time.

Keep the fever high & the mind higher!

Great finds Cruisader!!! You definitely live in an area that is historically rich and I envy you! Oh well maybe someday I'll find myself on a trip across the pond but for now..... Congrats, Bootstrap

I honestly feel for those who can't detect during winter. What a dark, cold & depressing time :(
