Took an hour after dinner to hunt a local school, set my discrimination up and just dug high tones. After I popped out the plug and saw the dime, I rescanned the hole just to make sure, then i scanned the plug and heard another high tone, I didnt know it until I kneeled down to pick apart the plug when i saw the outline of the ring, you can just make it out in the photo the ring in the plug.
Not bad for an hour hunt,
Enjoy,

Nice job on the double silver in the hole. That doesn't happen too often. Way to go!

Just for the heck of it, check to see whether the dime fit inside the ring. Looks like the 2 were closer together than I'd expect by chance.

it kinda does, but id rather not get it stuck inside and scratch up the dime.

Silver is always nice, two for the price of one, even better. Most of all I like the photography, very cool.

Great finds in one hole , rather curious though - as the dime is from the 30's and the ring
displays the 925 hallmark, rather than sterling mark one would expect to see if the ring were
contemporary with the date on the dime . I don't believe that 925 came into common usage
until the 1970's - just a little mystery - ? Argentium.

Very cool to see that! The ring was obviously lost more recently than the dime, since there was a difference in depth for the two... so it is REALLY cool that the ring happened to fall to the ground so close to where the dime was resting. Very cool!

Cheers,

well yeah, you dont see the pile of dirt next to the hole, all that is showing in the pic is the plug, there was a good 4inches of dirt between them so the ring was only 3 inches, my depth said 6 with the tone rising to 4, and im sure you know its better to sink the shovel deeper and get the coin out of the plug, rather then digging the exact depth of the coin and risk scratching it,
I was kinda looking for a way to explain all that, and your reply is just what i needed,
thanks man,

and thanks to everyone else who enjoyed my post,
Happy Hunting

Yeah, Buckleboy - thats the likely scenario - It is so easy to rush into connections by proximity ,
but yours is the more rational suggestion. Argentium.
