I decided to go out today after being down with a cold. The weather was nice and I couldn't fight the urge (I'm sure everyone reading this understands that feeling) anyway, I went to a site I frequent often but decided to check a patch of woods I never hit.. Well, here are the results. I spent 2 hrs here. I'll be back again.
Thanks

I've probably had more good finds on whims than on purpose. Ever to to a likely spot and find not much but find a silver coin on the way back right next to where you parked? Happened to me many times. Now you know the first place place I look when I venture out. Many times I have also had a good find on fringe areas, so I learned to check them out. Very nice finds! Thanks to everyone for the great feedback. The items found happened to be at a local park, in the woods adjacent to a parking lot. I found bus tokens there as well and come to realize that it was an old entry to the park. Neat stuff. I'll be back there.
I use a Whites IDX Pro. Its an older model. I feel I can do much better with something newer. Suggestions are welcome.

Thats how I found my first US cartridge box plate...on a whim. Never thought in my time hunting I would come across that find and I am sure you felt the same way. Amazing!

Love what happens.....on a whim. Plans pay out, too. And, no feeling like knowing that you made it happen....
because you took the time to plan. BUT.....love those gut feelings. All in this hobby. Keep processing
those "whims."
