Back to the site of last week's 1829 half dime; I promise not to whine about the finds today . The first two good signals were these Indians; a 1902 and 1906. Somewhere along the line, I added this little lock and another piece which I can only begin to guess at. It is about 7/8" tall, six sides coming up from a flat bottom and lighter in weight than you'd expect. I figured that one out; it appears to be hollow inside. On the bottom, and I hope it shows well in the picture, is an old-fashioned letter "C" (I think). The last two finds were 1930 and 1944 wheats. Nothing spectacular, but this place has become a reliable supplier of Indians! Please help with the six-sided item, will you? Meanwhile, I'm heading off to the ER because a yellow jacket sting from yesterday (non-detecting) is starting to look like an infection >:(.

That looks to be an interesting site to hunt. Love those IH pennies and that lock is very intersting, about the same size as a penny. I wonder what type of treasures that lock was protecting :dontknow:

Nice hunt. That's the coolest lock I've seen. Don't know about the six sided thing, would think the C would be backward if a stamp. :dontknow:

Randy

PS-Maybe if you'd gone metal detecting yesterday you wouldn't have gotten stung.

I realised that, so wanted to know if it looked like any other letter when impressed (might be upside down) or might not be a seal at all :dontknow:

Always even more fun when the old coins start popping out. Love the hobby. :D
