2007's 1st Picnic Grove Hunt and a sweet coin

Hi all,
It has been a long time since I posted any good finds. I haven't been out much this year. Been dealing with a bad back and a broken finger.

I have this picnic grove by me that I have hunted many times over a 3 years period. I have been the only one who has ever M D it. It's 3 1/2 acres. I wish I could hunt it anytime but permission is granted periodically but that is fine with me because when I do hunt it, the site has never let me down when it comes to silver. Many of nice finds have come out of the ground here and this Pretty Lady is just 1 more to add to the many others.
I Just walked onto the property and fired up the XLT did my little tweeking and started swinging. Got a signal within a few sweeps and pinpointed the target at 3 inches, dug my plug, probed the hole and located The Lady. In less then a minute I had her.
3 hours later I had 11 Wheaties dating from 1916 to 1936 and .82 cents and a handful of junk.

I have only 2 silver coins so far this year, both Barber Dimes, a 1916 and now a 1900
Thanks for looking DPSB

That Barber you plucked out of the ground has great eye appeal. A 1900 no mint mark Barber dime like that can go for $50. I would have graded it AU but the scratch on the reverse side of the coin detracts from the value. Did you scratch it with your digging tool?

What a great find and congrats! You know there's more.....

Thank You

No scratches on the coin except a little bit of dirt scratches on her neck. Those marks are either from the camera lens or the 10X magnifier lens. Scratching a coin with my digging tool is against my religion. Always dig a good size plug and you don't have to worry about it..
I would give it an VF - XF I don't think it would get an AU grading.

That is a nice B-arber dime! How many wilver coins have you found there?
I'd have to go back in my books for that number but if I had to guess 15-20 over the years. My oldest be 1821 Large Cent, lots of I H , Wheaties, Buffalo's, gold and silver jewelery and a bunch of old foreign coins too.
Thanks All DPSB

Sweet dime. Those barber coins are worth some $ when they are EF like yours not to mention they look better. :) :)

Wishing you well with your back.
