Old course again. First signal was 4" and quarter 1 way, a dime the other. Dug it up and yelled with joy. I had told my wife yesterday I really wanted to find a pre 1900 coin. This was my first, and my first Barber quarter!! And it had an "O"!! Fist "O" ever!! Only been detecting since January.

I would classify it as an addiction.

Worst part is when you find it, you want to show it to someone but no one is around! 10' to one side was the 1939 D Mercury and 10' to the other side was the ring. On cloud 9!!

Very cool trio there! Those would all be first for me as well. What a great site you're on!

EVERY dime signal ends up, at worst, as a wheat penny. First site I actually dig every signal, even some iron ones! Using coinmaster pro right now-what I wouldnt give for an e-trac!! More than paid for the coinmaster so far though.

Ring is sterling silver. Stone is butt ugly, but I won't complain!

Odd looking stone in that ring. I wonder what it is. Any idea?

Is it possible it's just a common rock that had some kind of sentimental value to someone? Maybe like a stone/rock from their home place or where there was a proposal for marriage?
