Have your tried just putting it on a flatbed scanner. Not the best quality, but might work.

I got to be honest, with the pictures its hard to tell. I surfed a little and could not find a good picture of one. Has anyone been able to find a good pic of one on the internet?

I can't see the doubling either and with those close-ups it should be really noticable, from the pics I've seen in guides. I've found 10 rolls of 39's and never got a DD.
