Morning All, Went to Newport Beach again but with Ross. The news channels predicted right again. Saying that there was going to be up to 11 foot waves until 2pm. Seems I left the beach at 2:30 and all the surfers were heading in. Both of us did good with Ross finding a nice silver ring and a 14k gold band and myself with 2 silver rings and a 10k ring with diamonds (2 in the center real diamonds while the 4 on the band moissanite). 2 Surfers laughed at me when I did my happy dance, then congratulated me when they found out why I did my dance. Per Chris not a pretty site while I do my dance. I have no shame lol. New Port has been good to us. Thanks for lookin. HH Pete
ps. The silver ring with the turquoise must have been there a long time. I tried cleaning it with Wrights silver cleaner. Not good enough. What would you folks do. I can see the 925 mark. I also need a new camera. sorry

Hey Pete .. some nice finds! :hello2::hello2::hello2:

I generally use the easiest method for dirty silver... wet the ring sprinkle a bit of salt and wrap in aluminum foil...place in a coffee cup and submerge with boiling water.
After an hour or so wash off the soft black crud with dish soap and your fingers then use some baking soda to polish.

To get it more shiny and jewelry grade you'd need to use some rubbing compound (at least three grit sizes). All polishing methods will remove material and so you need to be at least semi-proficient to avoid disaster.
